The MHRN provides the infrastructure to support commercial and non-commercial large scale research in mental health, including clinical trials. The Network combines knowledge and experience in mental health research, a streamlined efficient system for setting up projects and access to a large patient population. All of which enables recruitment to target and on time.

Whilst Chief Investigators retain overall control and responsibility for their studies, the MHRN is able to provide a range of services to support and facilitate the research on behalf of the study team. These are provided both by the UK MHRN Coordinating Centre and the local MHRN Hubs.
