Attributing revenue costs of externally funded non-commercial research in the NHS
A Department of Health document (2005) that aims to clarify the distinction between research costs, NHS support costs and treatment costs in relation to activity specified in the research application/protocol, and to help attribution between the NHS and the external funder for patient-related activity, clinical staffing and placebos and medicines.


UKCRC Registered Clinical Trials Units
This site offers a resource for clinical researchers and funders wishing to identify Clinical Trials Units (CTUs) that have expertise in centrally coordinating multicentre clinical trials, as well as in trial design, data management and analysis. All the CTUs listed have achieved UKCRC registration status. This site has been developed by the NIHR Clinical Research Network Coordinating Centre on behalf of the UK Clinical Research Collaboration.

The MRC/MHRN Cohort Dataset Directory for mental health researchers
This directory enables you to find cohort studies that may be relevant to your research and provides information about each study’s principal investigators; funding and current status; study design; sampling and continuity plans; types of data collected, index of study measures and relevance to mental health; policy on data access and sharing; website or contact details.

Adults lacking capacity to consent to research
An online tutorial developed by the University of Leicester and the University of Bristol, designed for people who have an interest in research involving adults who lack capacity, including researchers, Research Ethics Committee members and Research Governance managers. The tutorial and associated documents are available via the National Research Ethics Service website.
