Methodology Research Group
The MHRN Methodology Research Group is comprised of experienced statisticians, health economists and psychometric researchers who work at the University of Manchester, the University of Bristol, the University of Leeds, the Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College London and the Medical Research Council Biostatistics Unit in Cambridge.
The Group’s primary aim is to develop, evaluate and promote new methods of designing randomised controlled trials and other studies, and new ways of analysing the data collected to yield a more detailed understanding. Members of the Group have successfully applied for a number of grants to support methodological research of this nature.
A secondary aim is to offer support and guidance about methodology, or give specialist advice, to the expert trial statisticians and health economists working on MHRN-supported studies. The Group’s members also share their knowledge and promote new methodologies through training courses and workshops (see the Methodology Research Group: news page and the MHRN Events page).
