MRC/MHRN Cohort Dataset Directory for mental health researchers

This directory enables you to find cohort studies that may be relevant to your research and provides you with information about each study’s principal investigators; funding and current status; study design, sampling and continuity plans; types of data collected, index of study measures and relevance to mental health; policy on data access and sharing; website or contact details.

The directory does not provide you with direct access to research data. You will need to contact the relevant study if you wish to find out more about the datasets, including the arrangements for requesting access to the data for research purposes.

The resource was developed by the Mental Health Research Network and the Medical Research Council to meet the need for better discovery of existing cohort study datasets relevant to mental health research. The directory is not a comprehensive guide to all studies of relevance to mental health research in the UK (or abroad). Its initial content is based on information volunteered by a broad range of study teams in response to an MRC-commissioned study.

The MHRN and the MRC are keen for this directory to evolve as a research community resource. We encourage you to submit your own study dataset descriptions and update the current content, and to send us your feedback via the Directory website where you can search for relevant studies.
